Fresh Water Rinse
After each session, thoroughly rinse your entire eFoil with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and debris. Pay special attention to the mast, propeller, and electronic compartment to prevent buildup that could affect performance. Using a gentle stream of water, ensure all surfaces are rinsed, including the board, foil, and connections.
For saltwater use, consider using a mild, marine-safe soap to help break down any salt deposits. Avoid using high-pressure sprays directly on sensitive electronic components, as excessive force may push water into sealed areas.
Electronic Port Care
Regular maintenance of your eFoil’s electronic ports is essential to prevent corrosion and ensure reliable connections. Follow these steps:
-
Use electronic contact cleaner to remove any residue or salt buildup inside the ports. This helps maintain optimal electrical conductivity and prevents oxidation.
-
A can of compressed air can be used to dry out any moisture or debris in the connectors before storing your eFoil.
-
Periodically inspect connections for any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage, and address any issues immediately.
After cleaning, apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the connectors to create a protective barrier against moisture and corrosion.
Hatch Ventilation
Keeping the hatch open after each session allows the internal compartment to breathe, reducing trapped moisture and condensation. This is especially important in humid or saltwater environments. When storing your eFoil, leave the hatch slightly ajar in a dry, shaded area to promote airflow and prevent mildew or electronic degradation. If possible, store your eFoil in a climate-controlled environment to extend its longevity.
By following these maintenance practices, you can keep your eFoil in peak condition and extend its lifespan, ensuring smooth rides for years to come.
